The Annual Report 2024-2025 | FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH
PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
Tikkun Ha-Ir
A shining example of this was Good
Deeds Day 2025, which became a
milestone moment for what’s possible
when organizations unite around a
common purpose. That day, more than
200 volunteers came together across
Milwaukee to pack hygiene kits, prepare
meals for shelters, craft with veterans,
and run a Mini Veggie Chop Shop. It
marked the largest-scale Good Deeds Day
Milwaukee has seen in over a decade,
and it happened thanks to the intentional
collaboration between Tikkun Ha-Ir, the
JCC, Milwaukee Jewish Federation, and
many others. The result wasn’t just visible
impact — it was shared energy, shared
purpose, and a real sense of community
in action.
This year, the Harry & Rose Samson
Family JCC is proud to recognize Tikkun
Ha-Ir of Milwaukee with the 2025 Yachad
Award for Community Partnership. This
recognition is rooted in gratitude for
their vision, their tireless work, and for
the power of our partnership to mobilize
our community towards justice and
compassion.
That sense of purpose is what makes
our partnership with Tikkun Ha-Ir
so meaningful. We see it in the way
they show up for the most vulnerable
members of our community. We see it
in how they educate and engage people
across generations. And we see it in every
opportunity they create for someone to
roll up their sleeves and make a di昀昀erence
— whether by preparing meals from
rescued produce, planting in the Jewish
Community Pantry garden, or supporting
voter engagement and get out the vote
e昀昀orts.
Tikkun Ha-Ir’s mission is centered on
building a more just world, one action at
a time. Through a wide range of programs
and initiatives — from food rescue and
redistribution to education, advocacy,
and hands-on service opportunities – they
help bring Jewish values like tzedakah
(thoughtful giving), chesed (kindness),
tzedek (equity and justice), and kehillah
(community) to life.
The Yachad Award is about honoring
collaboration, and our work with Tikkun
Ha-Ir truly embodies that spirit. Together,
we’ve grown a relationship that is both
practical and powerful – focused not
only on meeting urgent needs, but on
building long-term capacity for change.
The board and sta昀昀 of the Harry & Rose
Samson Family JCC are proud to celebrate
Tikkun Ha-Ir’s leadership, vision, and
enduring partnership. We look forward
to continued collaboration as we build a
more just, compassionate, and connected
Milwaukee – together.
Over the years, our relationship with
Tikkun Ha-Ir has deepened, rooted in
commitment to putting our shared values
into action. Their work doesn’t just raise
awareness of critical issues a昀昀ecting our
community — it invites people of all ages
and backgrounds to do something about
it. Through our partnership, we’ve been
able to open more doors for individuals
and families to get involved, learn
something new, and make a meaningful
impact on the community we all share.
